More commitment to the implementation of the Strategy for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Community 2009-2015

Prishtina, 8 July 2013 – “Today was held the meeting of the Interagency Steering Committee for monitoring and coordination of the implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Community 2009-2015. Minister Vlora Çitaku, who is at the same time the Chairperson of the Steering Committee emphasized the importance of the strategy implementation and required from responsible institutions to work with more commitment in the implementation of the strategy objectives and actions.  The aim of the meeting was presentation and approval of the progress report on mid-term assessment of the implementation of the Kosovo strategy for the implementation of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Community 2009-2015.  In the meeting were discussed also the challenges that institutions are facing during the implementation of the strategy and possibilities to overcome them.

Interagency Steering Committee comprises of the following members: Minister of European Integration, Mrs.  Vlora Çitaku, Minister for Return and Communities, Mr. Dalibor Jevetic, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Ramë Buja, Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning , Mr. Dardan Gashi, Minister of Health , Mr. Ferid Agani, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare , Mr. Nenad Rashiq, Director of the Office for Good Governance, Mr. Habit Hajredini,  Director of the office of Community Affairs, Mr. Serdjan, representatives of  non-government organizations “Iniciativa 6”  and organization  Fahri Vraniqi, as well as representatives from the Ashkali Community Centre, Consultative Council for Communities and Ombudsperson.
