Prishtina, 26 July 2016 – Minister for European Integration, Mr. Bekim Çollaku received in a meeting the newly appointed Italian Ambassador in Kosovo, H.E. Mr. Piero Cristoforo Sardi.
Minister Çollaku welcomed Ambassador Sardi, and expressed his gratitude to Italy for its support to Kosovo in the state-building process and Kosovo’s European integration path, and expressed his belief that such support will be reaffirmed in the process of deciding on visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens. Moreover, minister Çollaku informed Ambassador Sardi about the reform agenda, with particular focus in the implementation of obligations deriving from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
Whereas, the newly appointed Italian Ambassador in Kosovo, H.E. Mr. Piero Cristoforo Sardi confirmed the readiness of the Italian government to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Kosovo, focusing in increasing presence of Italian investors in Kosovo.
Both interlocutors stated that despite internal challenges faced by the European Union, the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries remains firm, which also was confirmed in the Paris Summit held between EU and Western Balkan countries.
