Prishtina, 4 May 2016 – Minister of European Integration of the Republic of Albania, Klajda Gjosha, via a telephone call congratulated the Minister of European Integration of Kosovo, Mr. Bekim Çollaku, for the European Commission’s recommendation for visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens. She emphasized that Albania welcomed this decision which paves the way for Kosovo’s citizens to travel visa-free in the Schengen area, and commended the Minister on the work done in the implementation of the roadmap for visa liberalization and fulfilment of the criteria.
Minister Çollaku warmly thanked the Minister of European Integration, Klajda Gjosha, for her commandments and expressed his gratitude for the ongoing cooperation. Minister Çollaku expressed Government’s commitment on the final part of decision making by the EU institutions and the deep belief that Kosovo will soon join Albania and the region in this regard. Minister Çollaku expressed his deep belief that “citizens of the Republic of Kosovo will also enjoy the right to travel visa-free similar to all citizens of the region”. Minister also stated that he welcomes the cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania in other areas of European reforms in order to advance the common journey towards the goal of EU membership.
