Minister Hoxha: The Country Report, a reconfirmation of our commitment

Prishtina, 29 May 2019 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, after the joint press conference with Prime Minister Haradinaj and the head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova, emphasized that “;we have received better evaluations than those from last year’s report, reconfirming our commitment for the report to give this evaluation.”;
Minister Hoxha appreciates the fact that the issue of visa liberalization in the report is decisive, and visa liberalization should be granted, adding that “now the issue is in the hands of the Council of Ministers. We estimate that the report underlined the fulfilment of the criteria for liberalization “;

“In the Country Report by the European Commission (EC), we have received better evaluations than those from last year’s report, reconfirming our commitment for the report to give this evaluation.
We have noted that the implementation of the SAA is our priority and is followed by deadlines that are observed with in good percentage, while any stagnation has been evidenced and reported.
The report also underlines EC’s opposition to the tariff imposed. This issue is a consequence of the approach of our neighbours towards the state, statehood and citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. This requires a new approach by our neighbours to the new reality as well as real evidence of their commitment to common values in the integration process.
The European Commission and the European Parliament have completed their work on free movement for Kosovo, the report said, now the issue is in the hands of the Council of Ministers. We estimate that the report underlined the fulfilment of the criteria for liberalization.
The rule of law and public administration reform has made progress and this is what the report says, while regarding the remarks on the administration we have to work harder in relation to appointments in public positions, with principles that go beyond political appraisal.
The Country Report also brings recommendations to address the challenges, which I have repeatedly emphasized that we still have a long way of reforms that lead us towards European integration.”
