Minister Hoxha: Institutions to fulfil the obligations of the European agenda

Prishtina, 12 September 2017 – The newly appointed Minister of European Integration, Mrs. Dhurata Hoxha, hosted today in a meeting the Italian Ambassador in Kosovo, Piero Cristoforo Sardi, with whom she talked about the Kosovo’s European Agenda and the opportunities for pushing forward the key processes.

Among the first meetings Minister Hoxha had is the one with the Italian Ambassador in Kosovo, Mr. Sardi, with whom she discussed about the processes related to Kosovo’s European Agenda, developments in the region and free movement for the citizens of Kosovo.

On this occasion, Minister Hoxha thanked Ambassador Sardi for the continuous contribution that Italy has given to Kosovo both for the development of the country and in the international arena. She also briefed Ambassador Sardi on the current developments in the framework of the European integration process, namely Kosovo’s progress in the implementation of the SAA.

Minister Hoxha stressed that “Kosovo is fully dedicated to advancing with the European Agenda and there is a full social consensus on this”. Minister Hoxha also emphasized that she will be very committed to push forward all institutions to fulfil their obligations foreseen within the European Reform Agenda and to implement the Stabilization and Association Agreement as this will directly affect the improvement of the lives of Kosovo’s citizens and will improve the environment of doing business.

On his part, Ambassador Sardi congratulated Minister Hoxha on her appointment to the new position and expressed his belief for a successful cooperation. He then said that he will be committed to developing economic cooperation between our two countries. He also confirmed the readiness of the Italian Government to cooperate with Kosovo, especially with regards to the European integration process.
