Prishtina, 3 October 2018 – The Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, hosted in a meeting Ms Maria Flachsbarth, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, and simultaneously a member of the German Bundestag, with whom she discussed about the visa liberalization, as well as the integration process.
Minister Hoxha stressed that all the 95 benchmarks for the visa liberalization according to the roadmap have been met, the campaign for informing the citizens on the free movement has already started, through the distribution of the materials in the languages of the communities, in all the localities of the country.
Minister Hoxha thanked Ms Flachsbarth, for the contribution of Germany regarding the resolution of Kosovo’s challenges.
“Kosovo needs support for accelerating the decision-making within this year – because we have met all the 95 benchmarks. Germany’s vote in the Council of Ministers is of crucial importance to this process”, emphasised Minister Hoxha, by informing her on the visa liberalization information campaign. The Minister noted that the citizens of Kosovo will not abuse this right.
The Parliamentary State Secretary, simultaneously a member of the German Bundestag, Ms Flachsbarth highly praised Kosovo’s commitment to meeting the benchmarks for the liberalization, pointing out the importance of strengthening the rule of law and the European Reform Agenda. She stressed that Germany has expressed its opinion on the EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, the importance of peace in this part of Europe and the economic development, providing comprehensive support for the current processes that Kosovo is going through.
