Prishtina, 15 April 2019 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, hosted the meeting the US Ambassador Philip Kosnett, with whom discussed issues related to the rule of law, fight against corruption, and more broadly on the reforms affecting Kosovo’s EU integration process.
The US has constantly provided assistance and support to Kosovo in developing and strengthening democratic principles, and at the same time we have been one of the largest beneficiaries of the US assistance, and for this we are very thankful, said Minister Hoxha.
The Minister emphasized that “Kosovo has adopted laws and is in the process of drafting and reviewing other components of the legislation to strengthen the rule of law, in particular the legal framework in the field of criminal justice, fight against organized crime and corruption, and judicial reforms”.
Ambassador Kosnett praised Minister Hoxha’s commitment to the integration process, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the rule of law, fight against organized crime and corruption, providing support to Kosovo’s integration processes.
Ambassador Kosnett emphasized that “The US continues to support Kosovo’s efforts to strengthen the rule of law and eliminate the negative phenomena that undermine the proper functioning of institutions and democracy in the country, with the expectation that these achievements will be further enhanced by contributing to the implementation of reforms, SAA implementation and approximation with the values of the EU countries, for the benefit of citizens, the state and the region”.
Minister Hoxha appreciated the US Ambassador Kosnett for the constant support of the United States in the key processes for Kosovo, and for the consolidation of our state.
