Minister Hoxha: Continuity of the fight against corruption necessary for visa liberalization

Prishtina, 26 January 2018 – The Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, hosted in a meeting the Chairperson of Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Mr. Blerim Isufaj and Mr. Reshat Millaku, National Coordinator of the Task Force for targeting Organized Crime and High Level Corruption, with whom she discussed the importance of the fight against corruption and organized crime for visa liberalization and the integration process.

Minister Hoxha thanked the institutions for the work done and urged for more comprehensive coordination of all relevant institutions to strengthen the fight against corruption and organized crime and to achieve satisfactory and continuous results, especially focusing on the visa liberalization criteria.

Minister Hoxha appreciated the performance of the State Prosecutor Office at the country level, which contributes greatly to the visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo.

Mr. Isufaj stressed that the engagement and the results of the work of the crime prosecution mechanisms are not lacking, because, according to him, the amount and quality of work of these institutions are tangible. Mr. Isuafaj emphasised that strengthening the rule of law is a priority and the State Prosecutor Offices of the country supports the integration process of the country through maximum engagement, contributing also to visa liberalization.
