During the meeting, Minister Çollaku briefed ambassadors on overall political context, particularly the new government, as well as the priorities of this new Government of the Republic of Kosovo concerning European integration process.
Upon this occasion, Minister Çollaku underline the importance of signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Kosovo and the European Union. As for visa liberalization process, Minister stated that the next few upcoming weeks, all the institutions will be engaged to met the remaining visa liberalization recommendations.
Minister Çollaku also underlined Government’s commitment to address key reforms in the framework of integration process, with particular emphasis on the rule of law, economic development and public administration reform.
The Minister also committed to engage in preventing illegal migration, a recent harmful phenomena for Kosovo’s integration into the European Union.
Minister for European Integration Mr. Bekim Çollaku expressed his gratitude to all EU member states for continuous support provided to Kosovo in its path towards EU integration.
EU Foreign Policy High Representative, Federica Mogherini and Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn, greeted the new government and expressed their willingness to work closely with EU integration institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
Ambassadors congratulated Minister Çollaku upon taking the office as Minister of European Integration by providing full cooperation with, as well as cooperation with all institutions of the Republic of Kosovo
