Minister Çitaku advances coordination regarding European agenda between the central and local level

In today’s agenda, visits to the municipality of Klina, Istog and Peja were conducted. Minister Çitaku was hosted by the respective Mayors and conveyed the same message and discussed the possibilities of enhancing coordination and cooperation between the institutions of central and local level about the recommendations and obligations emerging from the European Commission reports. Particular emphasis was put in the criteria set to advance the European integration and Visa Liberalization agenda for Kosovo citizens.

In more details was discussed the issue of increasing the level of cooperation on the process of reintegrating the repatriated persons, treatment of irregular migration phenomena but also the possibilities of applying in projects within the Instrument of Pre-accession Assistance  (IPA). At the same time, the modalities for accommodation in the municipal administration of scholars from the “Young Cells Scheme”, a project in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration and European Commission were also the topics of these meeting.

As in past meetings, Minister Çitaku informed in more details the Mayors on the developments regarding the negotiations of the Stabilization and Association Agreement as well as on the developments in the European agenda, after the visit in Brussels where she meet with high officials of the European Commission, respectively Commissioner Fyle and other officials.

Also, Minister Çitaku promised the assistance of the ministry to cope with the challenges of repatriating citizens in their municipalities, and to engage in government level to improve legal conditions for economic development and within this to create a better climate for investors.
