Prishtina, 4 April 2017 – Minister of European Integration, Ms. Mimoza Ahmetaj today reported before the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration. In the light of her reporting, Minister Ahmetaj informed members of the Committee regarding key developments under the European integration process.
In this regard, Minister Ahmetaj spoke on the implementation of the SAA, visa liberalization process, key priorities under the European Reform Agenda, IPA 2016 and 2017 programming process, and Kosovo’s access to EU programs.
With regard to the visa liberalization process, Minister Ahmetaj informed the members of the Committee on the results of the Special Prosecution taskforce for combating organized crime and corruption. Moreover, the Minister emphasized that work on combating organized crime and corruption should continue, however, in terms of completing the visa liberalization process, demarcation is the last remaining unfulfilled criteria.
Additionally, the Committee today reviewed and approved the Program for Implementation of the SAA, and decided to send it for approval in the plenary session.
Members of the Committee called upon all responsible institutions to undertake necessary steps, in due time, to ensure efficient implementation of obligations deriving from the SAA.
