MEI-Assembly Dialogue

During the meeting, Minister Çitaku informed Parliamentary Committee regarding fulfilment of the short-term criteria for negotiating Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), as well as the European Commission recommendation for beginning of SAA negotiations. Minister Çitaku also stressed the importance of the agreement reaching regarding normalisation of the relations between Kosovo and Serbia as part of the criteria for good neighbourly relations for all EU membership aspiring countries. Now, it remains that in June, Ministers Council of European Union confirms beginning of the negotiation for SAA between Kosovo and European Union. Also, members of the Parliamentary Committee were introduced to the negotiating structure for SAA approved by the government.
As regards to the Visa Liberalisation process, Minister Çitaku informed the Parliamentary Committee regarding Action Plan for Visa Liberalisation. Also, Minister Çitaku informed the participants that European Commission will conduct the following Fact-finding mission related to the fulfilment of the criteria from the Visa Liberalisation Roadmap during the summer months. In addition, during summer is going to be held third High officials meeting for Visa Liberalisation.

During the meeting, members of the Parliamentary Committee submitted a series of questions about the European agenda and activities of the Ministry of European Integration and Government to fulfil the duties deriving from the European agenda.
