Institutional support on improvement of conditions for Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo

Prishtina, December 19, 2013 – Deputy Minister of European Integration, Mr. Gëzim Kasapolli participated in a roundtable discussion upon the publication of two monitoring reports dealing with the Strategy and Action Plan for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo 2009-2015.

The purpose of this roundtable was to address four components/chapters of the strategy, Education, Employment and economic empowerment, housing and informal settlements, including the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians communities to government programs and policies for housing.

On this occasion the Deputy Minister, Mr. Kasapolli in front of the participants unveiled findings from the Action Plan arising from the strategy for the integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo.

Deputy Minister, Mr. Kasapolli stated: “This strategy aims improving not only living conditions but also creating political, social, economic, educational and cultural conditions on establishing and strengthening the identity, respect and protection of the values of these communities.
