Germany will continue to support democratic developments in Kosovo

Minister Çitaku informed the participants about the latest developments in the country where she stressed the importance of the dialogue with Serbia for normalization of the relations. Minister added that any solution must be made within the Constitution of Kosovo and that all agreements should be implemented. The role of KFOR and EULEX is essential to the success of the implementation of any agreement. Minister Çitaku on this occasion thanked delegation for the contribution of the German country who had historically aligned by Kosovo side and that she is happy that both EULEX and KFOR chiefs are from this country.

Regarding the process of European Integration, Minister Çitaku informed the delegation on fulfilling of the short term criteria and that very soon is expected the launch of the negotiations for signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement. In addition, she said that it has been achieved a great progress in the process of reintegration without distinctions and that all indicators show a positive trend. As far as specific concern regarding the reintegration of the RAE community, the Minister stresses that they are considered as our citizens and that they don’t have any difficulties in this process, on the contrary the Government and the Municipalities have taken measures to facilitate their reintegration even more.

Minister Çitaku thanked Mr. Ulbig, and all delegation and all delegation on their readiness to interest about Kosovo developments as well as their readiness to help pour country by exchanging experiences in regard to the European Integration. Minister Çitaku stressed that European Integration is a priority for the Government of Kosovo and that everything possible is done so our work become more effective in this regard.

From his side, Minister Ulbig congratulated Minister Çitaku and Kosovo Government on the work that was done so far and stated that the Government of the Saxony Land will provide ongoing support for the integration of Kosovo in EU and its economical development. Mr. Ulbig also paid a special attention to the dialogue process and reintegration of all persons in general with an particular emphasis on RAE community. At the end of the visit Mr. Ulbig felt satisfied with the achievements of Kosovo and information obtained in connection to the reintegration of the persons from RAE community. Germany will continue to support the democratic developments in Kosovo said Minister Ulbig.
