Germany supports Kosovo on its European agenda

Prishtina, January 29, 2014 – The Deputy Minister of European Integration, Mr. Gëzim Kasapolli hosted in a meeting Mr. Hans Ulrich Südbeck, chief of the Division for Western Balkans in the German Federal Office, accompanied by the German Ambassador in Kosovo, Peter Blomeyer .

In this occasion, was discussed regarding the relations between our two countries, expansion of mutual cooperation and enhanced coordination for the most important issues related to our country such as, Kosovo’s European agenda and international subjectivity.

Deputy Minister Mr. Kasapolli emphasized the importance of the commitment and active approach of the German Government to the advancement of the entire region, and particularly Kosovo, in the European agenda, namely in order to become a part of the big family.

Deputy Minister, Mr. Kasapolli has also requested the intensification of cooperation between Kosovo and Germany, in order to implement our mutual interests, but at the same time to contribute to the advancement of the region in general.

Among other things, the Deputy Minister, Mr. Kasapolli stated: The Republic of Kosovo understands the European integration process, as a process of internal reforms, both in institutional and social aspect.
Discussions were also focused on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Kosovo and the EU, the issue of Visa Liberalization and the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

On his side, among other things, Mr. Südbeck stated: Kosovo must continue with reforms since these reforms have brought Kosovo closer to the EU. He also emphasized the importance of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which has produced stability, and better regional cooperation for all parties.
