The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, participated in the “Conference on Migration and the potential effects of visa liberalization with the EU on the labor market in Kosovo”, within the “Strategic” session Vision”, together with the Ambassador of Germany in Kosovo, Jörn Rohde.

In conversation with Ambassador Rohde, the participants and in the answers to the moderator’s questions, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that the vision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is that of integration into the European Union and the achievement of European standards in the welfare of citizens and efficient functioning of institutions.

Visa liberalization is an important and positive achievement. Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi said that taking the final decision 8 months before the start of the visa-free movement has provided time and space to design an information campaign, which has been distributed and addressed to all citizens.

The idea of the campaign has guaranteed two aspects: that our citizens can move freely and with as few barriers as possible, namely, if there are additional elements related to traveling abroad, citizens will be as informed as possible and the conditions and the travel be pleasure and not a hardship as it was before, and the second is to make sure that visa liberalization is not misinterpreted and misused, where we have explained what visa liberalization means and what it does not mean.

We remind you that the campaign for the liberalization of visas started on October 5, where for more than a month cities and regions were visited around the country, and it is still going on through social networks and televisions.

The conference was organized by the German-Kosovo Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), as well as Kantar (Index Kosovo).
