Brussels, 14 July 2016 – The Deputy Minister for European Integration, Mr. Ilazi Ramadani, is staying in Brussels for a working visit along with a delegation from Kosovo, which is composed of Chief of Cabinet to the Prime Minister, Mr. Sokol Havolli, Senior Advisor to the Minister Çollaku, Mr. Fisnik Rexhepi and the Secretary General in the Ministry of European Integration, Mr. Demush Shasha.
During his stay in Brussels, Deputy Minister Ilazi met today Mrs. Ulrike Lunacek – Vice President of the European Parliament at the same time rapporteur for Kosovo and Ms. Tanja Fajon, MEP, rapporteur for visa liberalization process for Kosovo. The delegation from Kosovo also met the Director General of the Directorate for Enlargement Mr. Christian Danielson and held bilateral meetings with officials of the Belgian Government.
During these meetings, the delegation discussed about the process of visa liberalization, the implementation of SAA and agreement on the key priorities of the European agenda of the Republic of Kosovo that will enable the continuation of reforms and improvement of relations between Kosovo and the European Union.
While introducing the priorities of Kosovo, Deputy Minister Ilazi emphasized that until the end of this year we expect to have the final decision on visa liberalization, first meeting of the Council of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and the signing of the Framework Agreement on access to European Union programmes.
“We expect that the European Union, as it did until now, will evaluate positively the progress of Kosovo, accompanied with merit decisions on visa liberalization in the near future. Kosovo is committed to continue the European reform agenda using the SAA as a proper platform in this regard” stated Deputy Minister Ilazi.
During the day, the delegation will hold meetings at the Directorate of Home Affairs of the European Commission and the Cabinet of European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn.
