Deputy Minister Ilazi attended the regional conference “Accession reforms in the Western Balkans” in Skopje

Skopje, 27 November  2015 – Deputy Minister of European Integration, Mr. Ramadan Ilazi, attended the regional high level conference on the topic “Accession reforms in the Western Balkans”, held in Skopje.

At this conference, aimed at sharing experiences of the Western Balkan countries concerning reforms in the process of European integration, Deputy Minister Ilazi talked about the Kosovo’s progress on the European agenda, highlighting the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Kosovo and the EU and the fact that Kosovo has met the technical criteria and is expecting a positive report during December on visa liberalization for its citizens.

Deputy Mninister Ilazi also talked about the EC annual report, assessing that the EU enlargement strategy and the annual report are important means for Kosovo to speed up reforms in accordance with the Copenhagen criteria and as outlined in the SAA. “We are in the final stage of preparation of the National Implementation Plan of the SAA”, announced Mr. Ilazi.

Deputy Minister of European Integration, among other things stressed out that the progress assessment for each country that is in the process of EU integration, according to the new assessment methodology by the EC, gives a clearer idea of where we stand in general with reforms required in comparison with other candidate countries.
