Minister of European Integration, Mr. Bekim Çollaku upon submission for adoption of this initiative, announced that the programming is, for the first time, based on a IPA 2 new approach, that of direct sector support, meaning that we will focus on a number of selected priorities but with a much more larger financial assistance in order to contribute to sector changes, we have been, therefore, focused on three main sectors: rule of law, energy, agriculture and rural development. At the same time, the programming will support the implementation of obligations provided under the SAA.
“In addition to these sectors, it will be provided a support to the European integration process and legislation approximation with EU, as a more horizontal support, and in financing needs resulting from the political dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia,” stated Çollaku.
This Agreement will be signed by the Ministry of European Integration, representing the Republic of Kosovo, which will continue consultations with the European Commission, in accordance with internal procedures of the government and will sign the agreement in due time.
