President Jahjaga received the Draft National Strategy for European Integration

Drafting of National Strategy for European Integration was initiated in March 2012 at the founding meeting of the National Council for European Integration, which is established for the purpose of institutional coordination by President Jahjaga. At this meeting it was recommended establishment of Task Force for European Integration for the propose of drafting of the National Strategy, by providing full consensus with all Kosovan stakeholders involved in this process, and that would reflect a common vision and purpose of the country’s membership in the European Union.

President Jahjaga congratulated co-chairpersons of Task Force for the successful completion of the process that is supported by all institutions, political parties, civil society, academia and business, as well as other stakeholders of the society.

President Jahjaga stated that the National Strategy document for European Integration will be discussed and adopted at the meeting of the National Council for European Integration.

Minister Çitaku and chairman Haziri presented the document in question and stated that the document summarizes a one year work and consultation of 1,000 Kosovan participants and experts in various fields, who contributed in analyzing the current situation, identifying the goals and challenges that our country must meet by 2020 to accelerate the process of European Integration of the Republic of Kosovo.

In addition to addressing the specifics of the Republic of Kosovo, the strategy also takes into account successful experiences of other countries in the European Integration process.
