The meeting held with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Ms. Margot Wallström, discussed Kosovo’s path towards EU integration and bilateral cooperation of both countries, whereby reaffirmed Swedish support to the European perspective of Kosovo.
By expressing the Kosovo`s gratitude for constant support of Sweden to Kosovo, having a direct impact in state consolidation, Minister Çollaku informed the FM, Ms. Wallström, in regards to Kosovo`s government priorities towards meeting the European agenda.
Minister Çollaku emphasized that successful conclusion of visa liberalization dialogue and the signing of the SAA, are two key priorities that Kosovo intends to achieve this year, thus fulfilling the will of the citizens and the entire political class of the country.
“We had a significant bilateral meeting with Minister Wallström, whereby we exchanged common views regarding the current political developments in Kosovo and the region. Regarding Kosovo’s European agenda, I received full support of the Minister in the light of two key processes that we are currently going through, such as, soon signing of the SAA as well as soon conclusion of visa liberalization process. Swedish government supported Kosovo in continuity, and will be a strong supporter of the Kosovo`s European integration process” stated minister Çollaku.
Minister Çollaku held meetings with other senior officials of Sweden, whereby informed them on current developments in Kosovo with special emphasis on the Kosovo`s European agenda priorities and the progress made in this regard.
In this light, he held a meeting with members of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and the one on EU affairs.
Minister Çollaku met also with State Secretary to Minister of Justice, Lars Westbrat.
Minister Çollaku upon this visit to Sweden met with representatives of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), whereby discussed on assistance to Kosovo in the context of the Development Agenda 2014-2020 amounting to €10 million per year.
