Prishtina, 13 September – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, congratulated citizens of the Republic of Kosovo following the voting of European Parliament in favour of visa liberalization.

“Honoured citizens,
The request of LIBE Committee for Parliamentary Groups of European Parliament today entered the agenda and was voted in favour of visa liberalization. This is good news for our citizens, free movement and future of our youth.
Our institutions of central and local level have fulfilled all conditions for liberalization. Following this extraordinary work in all fields and levels, the today’s voting is gratitude and prove that our citizens deserve free movement.
Today, Kosovo and its citizens received gratitude for the work done in view of fulfilling all criteria and for our citizens to move freely. We stated that citizens’ welfare is and remains our priority. Our citizens deserve free movement and now we are just one step away.
We are thankful to Rapporteur for Kosovo and Parliamentary Groups in European Parliament, as well as Euro-MPs for their understanding for free movement of Kosovo citizens and permanent commitment for visa liberalization as soon as possible. On behalf of Kosovo citizens, I express deep and sincere respect for Mrs. Fajon for all she has done for this extremely important process.
