Prishtina, 18 June 2019 – The Minister of European Integration, Ms. Dhurata Hoxha, during the meeting with the experts of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), who are assessing the Strategy of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) for 2013-2020, has highly praised the support and cooperation with Austria, who have continuously supported projects of importance to Kosovo.
More specifically, the OECD is assessing on the whether Austrian projects have contributed to the development of different sectors in Kosovo.
Minister Hoxha informed those present that Kosovo’s institutions have already consolidated the institutional structures to coordinate foreign development assistance, and that such structures meet on regular six-month and annual basis, including therein all donors active in Kosovo. Our institutions harmonize the government’s projections with the donors’ contributions through these structures, which are coordinated by the Ministry of European Integration, with the main objective of ensuring Kosovo progress in the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
Minister Hoxha expressed her gratitude for Austria’s continuous support in the development and consolidation of the state of Kosovo in fields such as: rule of law, agriculture, education, governance and civil society, infrastructure and social services. “We are grateful for Austria’s contribution and the support provided to our country before the international institutions and our integration therein, and the donations in strengthening the institutions and the integration process”, stated Minister Hoxha.
The OECD experts pointed out that it is evident that the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) supports Kosovo’s further progress in integration processes. Furthermore, they encouraged our institutions to deepen cooperation with ADA, aiming to maximise Kosovo’s benefits from Austrian funds.
Finally, Minister Hoxha thanked ADA’s representatives for their unremitting support, pointing out that projects implemented and projects under implementation pursuant to ADA Strategy for Kosovo (2013-2020) are of importance to Kosovo’s integration process and the path toward European Union.
