April 15, 2019

Prishtina, 15 April 2019 – A discussion was held today within the framework of the EU-funded project “Support to communication of the EU Integration Process” aimed at promoting EU standards in the four priority sectors: Consumer Protection, Agriculture, Food Safety and Safety at Work, within the SAA.

The Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, Head of the EU Office in Kosovo and the EU Special Representative, Nataliya Apostolova, and responsibility conferrers of sectors participated in this discussion.

The benefits that come as a result of the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) between the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Kosovo are numerous stated Minister Hoxha, and emphasized the expression of the will of citizens and the commitment of our institutions to be part of EU.

From year to year, we have marked a positive trend of implementation of reforms in close cooperation with the EU Office, but we expect to have increased implementation in 2019, the Minister stated, adding that the results are quite promising.

Minister Hoxha pointed out that “we remain committed to working intensively in implementing the reforms, in showing added results especially in the fight against corruption and organized crime”.

The SAA paves our path towards EU integration, towards our only option for stability and lasting peace, not only for Kosovo but also for the region as a whole. Despite important achievements in this regard, we still have a lot of work to do, said Minister Hoxha at the end of her speech.
