August 12, 2018

Prishtina, 12 August 2018 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, on the occasion of marking the World Youth Day, in the presence of youth student leaders, youth NGOs, youth from political parties, and national youth coordinator, Avdullah Hasani, held a speech and stated out that this is a good opportunity for all of us to gather here and witness the enthusiasm, creativity and the energy of the youth.

“Nowadays, when we have rapid changes in the world, technological development and when during the recent years the social media has caused major social and political changes, the youth force is important than ever before”, stated Minister Hoxha by adding that every day we should try to see the world through the eyes of youth, this is the best way to help young people and give them the chance to be more actively involved in the society.

As you know, Kosovo has received a positive recommendation for fulfilling the required criteria for visa liberalization. Visa liberalization is important for all citizens of the country, but mostly for our youth, it will be an additional opportunity for our youth and will open the doors of the future.

“We have talented and successful youth and there is no need to migrate illegally to EU countries because it has the potential to become partner with youth from other countries,” stated Minister Hoxha, and added that it is the ultimate time for the youth to increase its participation in public life in the new Decade.

Currently, youth unemployment and lack of free movement are the main challenges for our youth, said Minister Hoxha. The Government is committed to address the challenges that our youth is facing today by saying that we should focus on education reforms so our youth can have the opportunity to be competitive for the labour market at home and abroad.

On the World Youth Day, Minister Hoxha called for to establish new partnerships and to unify the efforts in eliminating all the obstacles with which the youth are facing nowadays, by making them less vulnerable to any kind of exclusion, so that we all can see the world through their eyes.

Last night, Minister Hoxha together with Mr Hasani, launched the message for this day on the led screen, “Youth, congratulation on your day!”.
