Tivat, 17 October 2017 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, met her Montenegrin counterpart, Andrija Pejović, in the conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Montenegro and the European Union.
Minister Hoxha in the meeting with her counterpart Pejovic, stressed the importance of the progress regarding integration process in the Western Balkans, pointing out that the experiences of countries that have already undergone important stages of this process or have concluded them, are welcome for Kosovo.
“The Stabilization and Association Agreement for Kosovo is a good opportunity and a chance to advance integration processes. We are committed to accomplishing the foreseen priorities as soon as possible, and join the great European family, and embrace its values and principles”, said Minister Hoxha.
Minister Hoxha in particular emphasized the importance of strengthening the rule of law, economic development and good neighbourly relations as important components in this process.
Meanwhile, Minister Pejovic emphasized that Montenegro will provide full support for Kosovo in prompter conclusion of the integration process, by strengthening the joint future of the Western Balkan countries in Euro-Atlantic integration, and by believing in those values.
In the meeting it was emphasized that the implementation of Stabilization and Association Agreement shall enhance the security, strengthen the peace, develop the economy, enhance the quality of life of citizens, and facilitate the free movement of goods, services, workforce and capital between the European Union and countries aspiring integration.
Montenegro benefited a lot from SAA, and contributed with 41% growth of gross production, while gross profit was 51% and marked growth in all activities of public and private sectors.
