Prishtina, 11 July 2019 – Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, hosted Finland’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Pia Stjernvall, discussing the cooperation and Kosovo’s perspective within EU values.
Minister Hoxha highly appreciated Finland’s contribution, as a friendly country, to the integration processes, highlighting the importance of the Finnish EU Presidency and the finalization of our citizens’ interest for visa liberalization during this six-month period.
“;The Finnish EU Presidency is very welcome to us since you have been aware of all the developments, you have contributed to our achievements not only in meeting the criteria for visa liberalization but also in the implementation of the SAA, the implementation of the reforms of the European Agenda as well as the on-going efforts for bringing Kosovo closer to the EU and integrating values”;, said Minister Hoxha, and added that we will not stop working on this process, but our citizens expect more, they expect concrete actions, meaning those that are stated in the EU after the criteria for visa liberalization are met.
The Minister stressed that she expects intensification of actions and finalization of visa liberalization during the Finnish Presidency, as the criteria have been met more than one year ago.
Ambassador Stjernvall praised Kosovo’s achievements in all areas, highlighting the priorities of the Finnish Presidency, while reiterating Finland’s position on visa liberalization, which was consistently positive, but demands unity in the Council of Ministers.
Finland has contributed and is still contributing to all integration processes, with comprehensive support, said the Ambassador, and it will continue like that, providing full support to Kosovo and its citizens.
Minister Hoxha and Ambassador Stjernvall agreed that homework under the integration process is a daily agenda of central and local institutions, contributing to strengthening the rule of law as well as implementing the reforms and the integration agenda.
