Minister Hoxha continues lobbying in Brussels, asks for support from Members of the European Parliament

Brussels, 27 June 2018 – During her official visit to the European Parliament, the Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, met with MEPs Marie Christine Vergiat, Angelika Mlinar, Monica Macovei, as well as the MEP Asim Ademov whereby she discussed about achievements, challenges and expectations of Kosovo regarding visa liberalisation.

 

“In separate meetings with Members of the European Parliament, I have presented our commitment and argued that we have met all 95 conditions foreseen for visa liberalisation. In addition, I stated that our commitment to the integration process does not end with the free movement of our citizens”, said Minister Hoxha, adding the acceleration of integration process and Euro-Atlantic values.

 

In separate meetings, the hosts of Minister Hoxha, Marie Christine Vergiat, Angelika Mlinar, the former a French MEP, and the latter an Austrian MEP, expressed their full support for Kosovo’s vital processes within the European Parliament. MEPs can also have a specific impact through the parliamentary groups they belong to.

 

In the meeting with Mr. Asim Ademov, Bulgarian MEP, member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), Minister Hoxha highlighted the achievements and challenges in the integration process, being sure of the positive signal regarding visa liberalisation.

 

Mrs. Monica Macovei, MEP from Romania, member of the delegation for SAA Implementation in Albania, LIBE Committee, CPDE etc. who hosted Minister Hoxha’s meeting with MEPs, expressed her readiness to support Kosovo regarding free movement as well as in the integration process.

 

LIBE is an important European Parliament committee because it covers Civil rights, liberties, justice and home affairs.
