Minister Hoxha: Bulgaria supports Kosovo in the enlargement plan

January 26, 2018

Prishtina, 26 January 2018 – During a meeting with the Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Nedialtcho Dimitrov Dantchev, the Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, said that Kosovo should have a timeframe and be included in the concrete plans of enlargement, in the application for the status of the candidate country and in other important processes for the country.

“I have repeatedly demanded that Kosovo has the timeframes and be included in all the initiatives and plans for enlargement. There is a consensus inside our country with regard to integration. It is a pity that Kosovo is the last country in the Balkans going through this process. We have dynamism and intensification of the integration process, at all levels. Any strategy that deals with the integration of the Western Balkans without including Kosovo would not be complete and would not make sense”, said Minister Hoxha.

On the other hand, the Bulgarian Ambassador Dantchev, whose country is holding the presidency of the Council of the European Union, has confirmed further unshakable support of Bulgaria to Kosovo’s European path, pointing out that Kosovo’s future is bright.

“Kosovo has a bright European future, its allies, and in this case, Bulgaria, will always be supporting Kosovo in this process. You are already witnessing that Kosovo has reconfirmed its readiness to face the challenges and find solutions for them”, said Ambassador Dantchev.
