Kosovo institutions fostered preparations for implementation of SAA

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo defined the NPAA as key national strategic paper to the implementation of the European Agenda, until the full membership of the Republic of Kosovo into EU. NPAA prepares Kosovo to further approximation and implementation in three EU main pillars: Political Criteria, Economic Criteria and European Standards.

In order to finalize the drafting of the NPAA, the Ministry of European Integration brought together, in a workshop, more than 60 officials representing all relevant public institutions.

During the opening remarks of this workshop, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of European Integration, Mr. Ramadan Ilazi, stated that: “Kosovo institutions will, for the first time, manage to have a paper which will serve as strategic orientation basis and turning point into the European Integration which is a full of challenges path”.

He also added that: “National Programme for Adoption of Acquis will cover a five year period 2016-2020 and will focus on three strategic aspects of EU accession: implementation of SAA, fulfilment of midterm criteria deriving from 2012 Feasibility Study; including Progress Report obligations and follow-up actions deriving from Stabilization Association Dialogue as well as transposing of provided EU legislation from all Chapters of Acuiqs” .

Initially, the National Programme for Adoption of Acquis, shall be approved by Government than shall be proceeded to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo for approval by the end of this year.
