Prishtina, 7 March 2018 – After the meeting with Minister Schneider, a bilateral meeting between was held, whereby the details of the Bilateral Agreement 2017-2020 were discussed, and important emphasis was given to the technical assistance for the Ministry of European Integration, Ministry of Finances, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Environment, by ratifying the Agreement on Luxembourg’s financial support to Kosovo in the amount of EUR 30 million.
During her official visit, the Minister of European Integration, Ms. Dhurata Hoxha, met with Mr. Romain Schneider, Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, whereby she highly praised Mr. Schneider’s contribution and engagement, along with his willingness to have Luxembourg’s support to Kosovo continue with existing dynamics in some very important projects for Kosovo.
“Kosovo needs the integration process to be concluded as soon as possible, with projects affecting the fulfilment of political, economic and rule of law criteria”, stated Minister Hoxha.
Minister Hoxha and Minister Schneider discussed the achievements and challenges faced in the integration process, the implementation of the SAA, the European Reform Agenda, the justice and economy reform and Kosovo’s integration in international organizations, whereby was stated that visa liberalization and economic development will improve citizen’s wellbeing, and are therefore of vital importance to current processes.
Minister Schneider stated that Luxembourg was, and will continue to be, a strong supporter of the Republic of Kosovo, pointing out the importance to public health of some of the projects funded by Luxembourg, along with other projects in the field of healthcare.

With regard to health related projects, existing projects were discussed and the possibility of their mid-term review, along with the healthcare reform – Health Sector Strategy 2014-2020, the challenges faced in the implementation of the Healthcare Information System, regional hospitals, and an overview of the health sector as well as the new phase of the Luxembourg projects and donor coordination.
Another topic was the vocational education in Prizren and Ferizaj, whereby the sustainability, funding and profiles, along with ratification of the bilateral agreement on vocational education, were discussed.
During the bilateral meeting was also discussed the issue of water, namely completion of the existing Luxembourg project, and the experiences from this project. Support will be granted to Civil Society, along with support to KCSF, Caritas, and FKL, and to the District Heating System – Termokos. Additionally, the multilateral projects, particularly the project with EBRD (Counselling to small businesses), were also discussed. Finally, the Bilateral Agreement that grants the Republic of Kosovo with a financial support amounting to EUR 30 million for projects that were discussed and harmonized with mutual consent was signed.
