The last meeting of the official visit to Budapest of the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, took place with the Minister for European Union Affairs of Hungary, Janos Boka.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi had the opportunity to get to know the priorities of the future Presidency of Hungary in the Council of the European Union, which starts on July 1, through this meeting. Among the main priorities is the expansion of the EU with a focus on the Western Balkans region, which the Deputy Prime Minister welcomed and praised highly.
In the light of the integration of the region into the EU, he spoke about the current situation of Kosovo in this journey, where he expressed the high citizen support in the country for accession to the European Union, underlined our application for membership in December 2022 and the need to address this application with the aim of achieving concrete steps forward through receiving the questionnaire and then the status of the candidate country, but also emphasized the commitment to the implementation of the European reform agenda and the work that is currently being developed within the Growth Plan.
Present at this meeting was the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bardhyl Dobra, who addressed the reform in the public administration as part of the processes with special attention to the achievement of standards and the implementation of effective European practices.
Wishing success to the state of Hungary in their upcoming presidency in the Council of the EU, Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi expressed his full readiness for close and productive cooperation.
