Prishtina, 23 January 2019 – At the high-level meeting on the track-record mechanism (targeted cases), the Minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, stressed that the EU wants to be assured that the progress on targeted cases is continuing.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri, Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksandër Lumezi, Chair of the Kosovo Judicial Council, Nehat Idrizi.
“Kosovo has met the requirements for visa liberalization and there is no additional requirement. However, some member states are more hesitant and want to see that the work and progress on rule of law continues”, noted Minister Hoxha.
“The EU member states see the track-record mechanism, or targeted cases, as one of the key indicators of the on-going work towards the rule of law”, said Minister Hoxhaj.
The minister also stressed that the dynamism of the integration agenda will not stop, pointing out that lobbying will resume in the coming days and that meetings with Ministers of the member states will be held in order to secure their votes in the Council of Ministers.
