Prishtinë, 11 Dhejtor 2013 – Ministrja e Integrimit Evropian, znj. Vlora Çitaku, në emër të Qeverisë së Kosovës, së bashku me Përfaqësuesin Rezident të Programit për Zhvillim të Kombeve të Bashkuara (UNDP), Z. Andrew Russell, kanë nënshkruar marrëveshjen për bashkëpunim ndërmjet dy institucioneve. Nënshkrimi i marrëveshjes së sotme me UNDP-në, kontribuon në forcimin e lidhjes së punës së UNDP-së në Kosovë me programin dhe prioritetet e institucioneve të Kosovës.
Gjatë konferences, Ministrja Çitaku tha: “Jam shumë e gëzuar që sot nënshkruam marrëveshjen e parë ndërmjet Qeverisë së Kosovës dhe UNDP-s. Marrëveshja paraqet një hap substancial përpara në marrëdhëniet tona në të ardhmen si dhe partneritetin që e kemi pasur deri më tani. Gjatë viteve të fundit, UNDP ka mbështetur shumë procese të rëndësishme në Kosovë, siç janë investimet në kapitalin njerëzor, në mjedis, në krijimin e vendeve të reja të punës, në reformën e administratës publike, etj. Vlera totale e asistencës së zbatuar nga UNDP-ja që nga viti 1999 e kalon shumën prej 200 milionë dollarë. Së bashku më UNDP-n, ne jemi dakorduar që prioritetet tona të janë: (1) qeverisja demokratike, (2) zhvillimi dhe rritja ekonomike gjithpërfshirëse, dhe (3) qendrueshmeria mjedisore. Gjatë periudhës 2011-2015 pakoja financiare e UNDP-s arrin vlerën prej afro 52 milion dollarë. Deri në fund të këtij viti, janë shpenzuar tani më rreth 30 milion dollarë. Në këtë drejtim, më lejoni të theksoj që asistenca e çmueshme e ofruar nga UNDP ka një rëndësi të madhe për Qeverinë, rrjedhimisht, ne shprehim gatishmërinë tonë për të ofruar partneritet të plotë për vitet në vijim.”
Nga ana tjetër, z. Rusell tha: “Kjo marrëveshje me MIE është e rëndësishme sepse ajo përfaqëson një epokë të re në marrëdhëniet në mes të UNDP-së dhe institucioneve të Kosovës. Shumë ka ndryshuar në dekadën e fundit dhe ne në bashkësinë ndërkombëtare duhet të pranojmë se roli dhe misioni ynë duhet të ndryshojë dhe duhet të bëhet më mbështetës. E ardhmja e Kosovës duhet të udhëhiqet nga kosovarët. UNDP është e angazhuar në radhë të parë që të fuqizojë kosovarët që të marrin udhëheqjen e procesit të zhvillimit. Praktikisht , kjo do të thotë se UNDP-ja është e angazhuar për forcimin e kapaciteteve kombëtare për të koordinuar ndihmën e donatorëve ndërkombëtarë. Nuk ka asnjë dyshim në lidhje me vizionin – vizioni ynë është i qartë dhe i përbashkët – paqë dhe prosperitet për të ardhmen në kuadër të familjes së BE-së, të zhvillimit që nuk përjashton askënd, që krijon mundësi dhe shpresë për të gjithë kosovarët , çfarëdo qoftë prejardhja e tyre.”
