Meeting with the Director of the Institute, Mr. Botond Feledy, and participation in the discussion “Kosovo’s Perspective in the EU, the Role of the EU in Kosovo, and Overcoming Expansion Challenges”

During the visit to Budapest, at the invitation of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, I met with the Institute’s director, Mr. Botond Feledy, and subsequently participated in a discussion titled “Kosovo’s EU Perspective, the EU’s Role in Kosovo, and Overcoming Enlargement Challenges.”

With experts who know the region and Kosovo well, we discussed the democratic and economic progress of our country, Kosovo’s contribution to regional security, and our path towards membership in the EU and other international organizations.

I emphasized that Kosovo is among the most developed democracies in the region and actively upholds European values. EU membership is a matter of choice for those who wish to join and share common values with the Union. Kosovo maintains a clear transatlantic orientation backed by broad public support. Our future lies within the European Union.

Membership in NATO and the Council of Europe is part of this orientation, contributing to democratic development, the advancement of human rights, and regional security. Kosovo and Hungary share common interests regarding the region’s development and security. Such discussions help us better understand one another and pave the way for further cooperation.
