In Dublin, Ireland, at the Informal Meeting of Ministers for European Affairs, before the start of the official program, I held a meeting with Ms. Milena Hrdinková, Principal Diplomatic Advisor for EU Affairs to the Prime Minister and Sherpa for the European Council of the Czech Republic.

I thanked Ms. Hrdinková for the support of the Czech Republic on our journey towards the European Union.

It was precisely during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, in December 2022, that Prime Minister Kurti submitted Kosovo’s application for membership in the European Union in Prague.

Today, the support of the Czech Republic remains important for the advancement of this application and for Kosovo’s future steps towards EU membership.

During the meeting, I emphasized the importance of cooperation with member states, so that support is translated into concrete steps towards obtaining candidate status and opening negotiations.
