Kosovo’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union, Jeton Zulfaj, was received in Budapest by Mr. Balázs Péter Molnár, Deputy State Secretary for European Policy at the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office.
During the meeting, Chief Negotiator Zulfaj emphasized that EU enlargement must remain a merit-based process. For Kosovo, advancing in this process would signify recognition of its progress and open up new opportunities for reforms that improve citizens’ lives.
The European Democracy Shield was also discussed ahead of the October 13 meeting in Luxembourg.
The Chief Negotiator thanked Deputy State Secretary Molnár for the reception and highlighted Kosovo’s aim to deepen relations with Hungary through political dialogue and cooperation in the EU accession process.
