It was a pleasure to meet this week with Mr Matti Nissinen, former Ambassador of Finland to Kosovo, who now serves as Director for South-Eastern Europe and EU Enlargement at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
During our meeting, we discussed recent developments in Kosovo, progress in Kosovo’s EU integration process, and ways in which Finland can contribute to advancing Kosovo’s progress, particularly by securing further support from EU Member States for obtaining candidate-country status and taking the next steps towards membership.
I am grateful for his friendship and for Finland’s continued support for Kosovo’s journey towards full integration into the European Union.
