A high-level meeting was held between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union within the framework of the DG ENEST monitoring mission for the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) projects, with the participation of the Minister of Economy, Ms. Artane Rizvanolli, the Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Dimal Basha, the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Ms. Fitore Pacolli, as well as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Hysni Mehani, from the Government of Kosovo, and the EU delegation, headed by Ms. Enrica Chiozza, Deputy Head of Unit B1 at DG ENEST, and Mr. Hubert Perr, Head of Cooperation at the EU Office in Kosovo.

The Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, Mr. Jeton Zulfaj, opened the meeting, in which progress in the implementation of projects under the WBIF was reviewed. The challenges encountered and the next steps to accelerate their implementation were discussed. Mr. Zulfaj stressed the importance of inter-institutional coordination, as well as with partners, in the joint discussion formats established within the Reform and Growth Instrument (RGF) and in other formats, for the successful implementation of projects.

The Ministers discussed the progress of the projects, emphasizing the role of ownership in the process and coordination for better planning and to avoid delays during implementation.

The Office of the Chief Negotiator will continue to play an active role in facilitating this coordination, with the aim of addressing the identified obstacles and using the European Union funds as effectively as possible for the benefit of Kosovo’s development.
