Prishtina, October 3, 2013. – Today was held the first information meeting on launching the Project implementation on assessment of central administration capacities, respectively, Legal Departments and Department for European Integration and Policy Coordination. This project was initiated by the Ministry of European Integration in cooperation with the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Public Administration. Project will be implemented by the German Federal Administration, namely the Ministry of Trade and Technology. Implementation duration will last 6 months. Project will directly contribute to the upcoming Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), supporting the necessary reform of public administration.

This project is intended to provide capacity assessment of staff involved in the process of European integration and to develop appropriate recruitment planning and developing plans for the capacity building. This will contribute to achieve the priorities and objectives of the Government in the process of admission into the European Union, as the competent and capable human resources are the prerequisite for addressing relevant priority issues before commencement of negotiations, as well for successful negotiation and later SAA implementation.

The overall objective of the project is efficient implementation of the EU Acquis transposition process into national legislation of Kosovo, as well as to strengthen the policy coordination.

The aim of the project is to assess the capacities of the respective key structures (MEI, LD’s and DEIPC’s of line ministries) to transpose the EU Acquis and policy coordination, as well as to develop recruitment plans and capacity building in order to increase the institutional and administrative capacities
