Prishtina, 15 April 2026 – At the invitation of Ms. Eva Palatová, Acting Head of the EU in Kosovo, the Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union and National Coordinator for the Reform and Growth Facility, Jeton Zulfaj, held an introductory meeting with the Heads of Mission (HoMs) of the EU Member States.
The discussion focused on the progress of Kosovo’s EU integration process, progress in the implementation of the Reform Agenda within the framework of the Reform and Growth Facility (RGF), as well as the need to strengthen institutional coordination and ensure the sustainable implementation of reforms.
The Chief Negotiator thanked the EU and the Member States for their assistance and contribution to the development of Kosovo and emphasized that his main focus would be advancing toward candidate status and the opening of negotiations as natural steps toward full membership in the European Union.
Mr. Zulfaj reiterated that Kosovo’s membership in the European Union is a joint effort. Kosovo is aligned with the EU’s foreign policy, shares common European values, leads the region in democratic advancement indices, and has a high average rate of economic development; therefore, progress toward EU membership is a natural and deserved step.
The meeting provided an opportunity for an open discussion on the challenges and opportunities ahead, as well as the importance of accelerating the process and institutional cooperation in support of progress toward membership in the European Union.
