In Vienna, before the start of the Vienna Economic Forum and alongside the meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker, the Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, Mr. Jeton Zulfaj, met with the Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Family of Austria, Ms. Claudia Bauer.
The meeting discussed the new momentum of the European Union enlargement, Kosovo’s progress in reforms and the importance of a merit-based process for the Western Balkan countries.
Mr. Zulfaj underlined that Kosovo is ready for candidate country status and for the opening of membership negotiations, emphasizing that Kosovo’s advancement in the membership process is in the interest of Kosovo, the European Union and regional security.
Chief Negotiator Zulfaj thanked Minister Bauer for the constructive exchange, Austria’s continued support for Kosovo and her proactive role in supporting the enlargement of the European Union.
