In the framework of the Bled Strategic Forum, today I had the pleasure of participating in the working breakfast on the Western Balkans, organized by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, Mr. Tone Kajzer, together with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the countries of the region.
We discussed the process of the region’s accession to the European Union, regional cooperation and issues of common interest for the region.
I emphasized our priority for obtaining the status of a candidate country and opening negotiations for accession to the European Union.
The Republic of Kosovo has demonstrated progress in democracy, strengthening the rule of law and economic development, is fully aligned with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy and remains steadfast in its commitment to the European values enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union.
Kosovo’s progress towards EU membership is in the interest of the EU and the region.
We will cooperate with Slovenia to advance our EU membership.
