Minister Çollaku meets the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, George Vella

Prishtina, 02 February 2016 – A delegation of high state officials from the Republic of Malta, leaded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, Mr. George Vella, today was hosted in a meeting by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bekim Çollaku.

In the meeting, both parties stated that the relation between Kosovo and Malta is outstanding, and discussed bilateral cooperation on Kosovo’s European agenda.

Minister Çollaku informed Mr. Vella about the progress that Kosovo has marked toward the fulfillment of the European agenda, whereby particularly spoke of the visa liberalization process.

“Kosovo has fulfilled all of the criteria in this process and is now awaiting the confirmation that would open the path toward visa free movement to Schengen Area countries for our citizens. We are ready, we have done a lot in this process”, stated minister Çollaku.

Moreover, he informed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta regarding the preparations by Kosovo institutions for the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement signed between Kosovo and the EU.

Whereas, the Maltese Head-Diplomat Mr. George Vella, reiterated his country’s supportive stance toward Kosovo’s European Agenda, particularly on the matter of Visa Liberalization.

Additionally, he expressed readiness to support Kosovo during the period when Malta will obtain EU Presidency in January 2017.
