The Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, Jeton Zulfaj, received today in a meeting the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kosovo, H.E. Rainer Rudolph.
Mr. Zulfaj thanked Ambassador Rudolph for Germany’s continued support for Kosovo, emphasizing the connection with common values and relations between citizens, which are strengthened by our diaspora in Germany.
He appreciated Germany’s important role in the process of enlargement of the European Union and in the economic integration of the region through the Berlin Process. The meeting also discussed the progress of reforms within the framework of the Growth Plan.
Mr. Zulfaj emphasized the importance of obtaining the status of a candidate country and opening negotiations for membership, underlining that for Kosovo, membership in the European Union is not simply a formal act, but a transformative process that strengthens democracy, grows the economy and increases the well-being of citizens. Kosovo is interested and fully invested in this process and Germany’s support is important to push it forward.
