Today, the Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union and National Coordinator for the Reform and Growth Instrument, Jeton Zulfaj, received the Head of the Greek Liaison Office in Kosovo, Ambassador HeleniVakali.
Ambassador Vakali congratulated Mr. Zulfaj on assuming his new position, while Mr. Zulfaj expressed his appreciation for Greece’s constructive engagement and acknowledged the important role that EU Member States play in advancing Kosovo’s European agenda.
The discussion focused on the European integration process, with particular emphasis on the implementation of the Reform Agenda and the transition to the next phase of the process. Mr. Zulfaj underlined that his and the Government’s priority is obtaining candidate status and opening accession negotiations.
Bilateral relations were also positively assessed, particularly in terms of economic cooperation, trade exchange, and people-to-people contacts.
Visa liberalization, which entered into force on 1 January 2024, has generated concrete and measurable results. From January 2024 to June 2025, approximately two million citizens from Kosovo visited Greece, clearly demonstrating the significant potential in the tourism sector and economic cooperation.
Mr. Zulfaj thanked the Ambassador for the visit and emphasized the importance of close cooperation in the integration agenda towards membership in the European Union.
