The Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, Mr. Jeton Zulfaj, welcomed today in a meeting the non-resident Ambassador of Ireland to Kosovo, H.E. Ragnar Almqvist.
Chief Negotiator Zulfaj congratulated Ambassador Almqvist on the occasion of Ireland taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, emphasizing the importance of advancing the candidate status and opening negotiations for Kosovo.
The meeting discussed reforms within the Reform Agenda and developments in the country. Chief Negotiator Zulfaj focused on the importance of the best possible coordination during the Irish Presidency in terms of advancing the candidate status.
In this regard, Chief Negotiator Zulfaj underlined that the motto of the Irish Presidency, “In unity, strength”, reflects exactly what is needed today for the candidate status and the opening of negotiations for Kosovo, namely the unity of all EU members.
