The Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, Jeton Zulfaj, hosted Ambassador Westerlund at the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Kosovo.
Mr. Zulfaj thanked Ambassador Westerlund for his contribution to the further strengthening of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Sweden, emphasizing that Kosovo and Sweden are connected through shared values and a lasting friendship. During the meeting, the participants highlighted Sweden’s continued and highly valued support for Kosovo as one of the country’s important partners in its democratic and socio-economic development, as well as in advancing Kosovo’s path towards integration into the European Union.
Chief Negotiator Zulfaj singled out the establishment of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce, the opening of Ericsson’s Research and Development Centre, and the presence of the Lindex and Volvo brands as concrete examples of economic cooperation that will further contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.
The meeting also addressed Chief Negotiator Zulfaj’s visit to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden in Stockholm, during which he underscored the importance of advancing Kosovo’s European Union membership aspirations through obtaining candidate country status.
Chief Negotiator Zulfaj wished Ambassador Westerlund success in the next chapter of his journey.
