The Chief Negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union and the National Coordinator for the Reform and Growth Instrument, Jeton Zulfaj, received yesterday in a meeting Mr. Emanuele Giaufret, Deputy Managing Director for Western Europe at the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Kosovo – EU relations, with a focus on Kosovo’s advancement in the European integration process and the implementation of the Growth Plan, were at the center of the discussion. Mr. Zulfaj underlined the importance of obtaining the status of a candidate country and the positive impact that this will have on the implementation of reforms and the overall development of the country.
Mr. Zulfaj thanked Mr. Giaufret for the assistance that the European Union has provided to Kosovo in construction and development, assistance that has been translated into infrastructure investments and in the establishment and strengthening of democratic institutions.
Mr. Giaufret congratulated Mr. Zulfaj on his appointment as Chief Negotiator with the EU and National Coordinator for the Reform and Growth Instrument.
The Republic of Kosovo is among the most democratic countries in the region, with sustainable economic development and fully aligned with the foreign policy of the European Union, with which it shares common values.
