In the meeting, they discussed many aspects of cooperation and excellent relations between the two countries, with a focus on developments related to the European integration process of the Republic of Kosovo. In addition, it was also discussed about the dialogue for the normalization of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia facilitated by the European Union, and the further steps expected to be taken in this process.
Minister Çollaku, after expressing his gratitude to Minister Lidington for the continuous support of the United Kingdom in advancing the European agenda, reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to undertake the necessary sector reforms in the context of European integration process, by improving the economy, creating new jobs and improving our citizen`s quality and perspective of life.
Minister Çollaku emphasised that this reform agenda will be more dynamic as soon as there are new opportunities for cooperation between the EU and Kosovo with the contractual basis of the SAA and conclusion of the framework agreement for Kosovo access to EU programs.
Minister Lidington reaffirmed the continuation of the support of the United Kingdom for Kosovo in the process of European integration, including the signing of the SAA this year, and its entry into force in 2016.
Minister Çollaku had another meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom respectively the Head of Western Balkans and Enlargement Department, Mr. Paul Gaskell, Deputy Director, Mr. Peter Bainbridge and the Head of the Desk for Kosovo, Mr. Dashiell Caldwell.
